Bored Ape NFTs have seen notable growth and were sold for millions of dollars. And now Necaxa, a Mexican professional soccer club in Liga MX announced its plans to sell some Bored Ape NFTs to raise funds and help Ukraine. This is the first team to ape into the BAYC who is looking to auction off its NFT. Notably, the team will donate 100% of the proceeds generated from the sales to organizations that are supporting the Ukrainian refugees.

The football team was one of the first major soccer teams to jump onto the NFT bandwagon. Having created the first collectible tied to ownership interest in a professional sports team. Notably, the Mexican club was also the first to enter the BAYC with the purchase of a unique Bored Ape for the team.
Indeed, led by the Ukrainian owner, the team is looking to contribute to the plight of refugees coming from the war-affected country and sell the tokens they have owned since the past year.
According to Al Tylis, the owner of the club, sports teams have a unique way of bringing people together and have a moral obligation to stand with Ukranians. Moreover, the team will use their resources to help the plight of its people.
Donations will be made through crypto
In an interview with Sportico, Tylis underscored that he decided to donate the entire proceeds in cryptocurrencies only. Notably, he has no plans to donate the funds in dollars or dollar equivalent. Moreover, he hopes the move will further galvanize the community and get the attention of the sports teams to follow suit and make their contributions to help the nation.
It is time to help innocents
According to reports the Bored Ape #7851 is expected to sell for around$300k. Indeed, the auction will be held on OpenSea until March 20th. The NFT will be listed for 80 Wrapped Ethereum (WETH). At the time of writing, the top bid stands at 85.01 WETH. However, despite the potential size of the donation, it is notable what limit does donations would achieve in general. However, besides sitting back and watching innocents shouting for help we should take at least a small step to help them.
