NFTs were visible this year at South by Southwest, or SXSW, in Austin, Texas, marking new phenomena for what began as a music festival in 1987. SXSW added blockchain programming to the mix with crypto-related panels, blockchain firm sponsors, and NFT community participatory experiences after developing into a film, tech, and general culture gathering following a two-year break.

Interviews with the Doodles and FLUF World NFT communities’ founding teams highlighted how the digital and physical worlds might connect.

They created tangible exhibitions where people would queue for hours to visit and participate with virtual communities in person.

Doodles and FLUF World, two NFT communities with the greatest physical presences at SXSW, ran immersive, multi-day, and multi-sensory events.

Know about Doodles NFT collection

Doodle is a collection of skeletons, cats, aliens, apes, and mascots that are generated using generative hand-drawn NFTs.

Doodles were started in October 2021, and its Doodlebank, or community treasury, has since grown to a balance of over $3 million.

In the Doodlebank Forum, Doodles holders can suggest growth plans, goods, experiences, or governance ideas, which are then voted on by all Doodles holders. Noodles and Coffeedoods, two of these proposals-turned-businesses, were featured at SXSW. Noodles expanded to become a completely new NFT line and brand, generating more than $550,000 in sales and $500,000.00 in royalties.

Doodle owners and inquisitive passers-by may buy a drink at a Doodle-themed bar, get Doodles painted on their nails, eat noodles, and display their own Doodle NFTs around the show. Customers who purchased a t-shirt or sticker from the Shopify-powered gift shop were placed into a raffle to win a Doodle.

Visitors to the activation waited in line for a taste, while those in need of a caffeine boost waited in line at the coffee bar.

Coffeedoods is a distinct Web3 coffee delivery firm formed by the founders of Coffeehead Doodles, with a monthly membership NFT for CoffeeDoods coffee shipments. According to the firm, there are presently over 5,000 pre-sale clients.

According to Castro, the Doodles community’s future objectives include “continuing to push Doodles into the public consciousness” through more IRL activations. The team said that they will build up a permanent installation with the help of local government and companies in an unnamed American city.
