Dallas Mavericks’ Spencer Dinwiddie has partnered with the world’s largest crypto-only online store for launching the Bitsneaks shoe.
An embroidered logo, a black-on-black colorway, contrasting sole are what the Bitsneaks look like. However, a feature that makes Bitsneaks unique and attractive is an 825-lumen LED that shows the live price of the world’s leading cryptocurrency, Bitcoin.
The Bitsneaks shoes are the world’s most high-tech sneakers displaying the BTC’s live price. What’s more interesting is that it doesn’t end here; there’s more to it.
Displaying Live BTC Price Is Not Coolest Best Feature
The high-tech shoes have built-in internet communication embodied in their sole.
What’s more intriguing is its shoebox, which performs the dual functions of a container and a Bitcoin mining rig. However, it is important to know that Bitsneaks themselves claims that the rigs are “extremely slow.”
It would take around 1.7 billion years to mine a block with a difficulty level of 27.45 T, rated at 2.769 MH/s. Meanwhile, Bitmain’s S19 XP miner has a hash rate of 140 TH/s, 50,000,000 times more efficient than what is being offered by Bitsneaks.
Sergej Kotliar, the founder of Bitrefill, says that the Bitsneaks are being launched against Nike. But, interestingly, Kotliar himself doesn’t seem too serious about it and even calls Bitsneaks “something truly silly.”
Kotliar goes on to say that, as everyone says, to build something to try and beat big players such as Nike just proves that “a small dedicated team like ours can do when trying to achieve something truly silly.”
Till now, one question might be going around in your brain, but how much do these shoes cost? The answer is that you can purchase them for 1 BTC (trading at $40,761.16 at the time of writing). An unrevealed premium sneaker marketplace will be distributing the unique shoes.
