New Country Head

Bitso, a cryptocurrency exchange based in Latin America has announced that Thales Araújo de Freitas will be their country head in Brazil operations, the organization stated on Monday.

Bitso wants to become the biggest cryptocurrency exchange in Brazil by the end of this year, the organization told a news website recently. That would put it in an arena with persisting leader Mercado Bitcoin, which has over 3.2 Million users and is in discussion for a sale to digital asset exchange Coinbase Global (COIN).

During the previous 6 months, Bitso has doubled its customer base in Brazil, Thales Araújo de Freitas stated to a news agency via a written statement.

Bitso is looking forward to recruiting more folks in Brazil and allowing the acquisition of football tickets with cryptocurrency there, he said. The organization also provides a professional trading platform, Bitso Alpha, and Bitso Business for corporate users.

The crypto exchange has over 4 Million users in Columbia, Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico, as per the organization. Back in August, Bitso recruited Vaughan Smith, an FB veteran, as its COO to accelerate the extension of the firm in Brazil.

Bitso’s First COO Hiring

Back in August 2021, Bitso hired Vaughan Smith, a Facebook veteran for the expansion of the organization. The individual was recruited to make the focus on the company’s extension strong.

The organization said that Vaughan Smith will play a vital part in mapping out the company’s evolution inside the constantly booming cryptocurrency space.

Bitso’s CEO and co-founder Daniel Vogel stated that Vaughan brings crucial expertise which will assist in driving growth and strengthening the organization’s vision regarding finance’s future.

Back in May 2021, Bitso jacked-up Series C funding round at a valuation of $2.2 Billion. It was the region’s initial cryptocurrency organization to surpass $1 Billion in valuation.
