  • Billionaire Elon Musk takes a dig at the content moderation policies of Twitter in his recent tweet.
  • Musk tweeted a meme titled “Twitter in 1775”, saying that Twitter would have even tried to censor Revolutionary War hero Paul Revere.
  • Later replying to a user, Musk tweeted, “Yeah, they’re going way too far in squashing dissenting opinions.”

Tesla Boss Elon Musk has yet again targeted Twitter regarding its content moderation policies. Billionaire jokingly tweeted that the Revolutionary War Paul Revere hero too would have gone through censorship.

On Monday, Musk posted a meme titled “Twitter in 1775” that contained the famous warning of Paul Revere regarding the British attack on the colonies.

The fictional tweet read as: “The British are coming, the British are coming!”

Under which there was a disclaimer which read as “learn how British taxes are beneficial for society,” mocking Twitter.

Musk also replied to a Twitter user who asked if he was aware of the recent ban of “JBP” from the social media site. This was apparently a reference to Jordan Peterson, a Canadian clinical psychologist, whom Twitter suspended over a tweet that targeted Elliot Page, a transgender actor.

Musk responded by saying, “Yeah, they’re going way too far in squashing dissenting opinions.”

In the recent past, Twitter has adopted a strict content moderation policy. The app’s move to ban The Post’s story on Hunter Biden’s business dealings just before the presidential election of 2020 was one such instance.Musk heavily criticized the social media firm for banning the Post’s Hunter Biden laptop story in April. He said it’s highly inappropriate to suspend the account of a major organization which published a truthful story.

Amid concerns regarding spam bots within the app’s user base, Musk’s $44 billion offer to buy Twitter has been delayed. However, once the transaction locks, the billionaire aims to resume Twitter’s content moderation efforts and continue to stress the freedom of speech.

Musk is a huge supporter of the popular meme token, Dogecoin. With his single-line Tweets, the billionaire has heavily influenced the token’s prices. Even after the recent crypto crash, Musk didn’t stop supporting his favorite coin.
