Zepeto Metaverse Team-up With Thai Telecom Firm TRUE

  • Naver Z signed a MOU with Thai telecom company, TRUE.
  • It is done to grow the metaverse ecosystem of Thailand.

Naver, a S.Korean online platform came with its metaverse platform, Zepeto to nourish the metaverse growth in Thailand with country’s telecom firm, TRUE. Zepeto metaverse signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with TRUE corporation.

The Collab of Zepeto-TRUE

Zepeto will work as a platform while TRUE will provide future-oriented online-to-offline experience that support Thai’s soft power in the metaverse content creation. However, some specific business details over the partnership are not shared yet.

On the partnership, Zepeto stated that it has millions of users with around 500,000 content creators on its Thai’s platform. Also, it shared that its K-pop content like the collaboration with the girl group, Blackpink, supported the popularity in Thailand.

It must be noted that Naver Z is a subsidiary of S.Korea internet corporation, Naver. Recently, it reported more than 20 million monthly average users (MAUs). Additionally, more than 95% of users became millennials and generation Z from the outside of Korea.

What does the head of Naver Z and TRUE say?

The business head of Naver Z, Kang Hee-seok Kang, stated on the collaboration that, “Through extensive collaboration with True, which has a strong influence in Thailand, we will discover Thai creators who can accelerate Zepeto’s development and create wonderful worlds and items.”

TRUE’s chief strategic content and public affairs officer, Birathon Kasemsri, additionally stated over the collab that “Through this collaboration, we will combine True Group’s expansive digital ecosystem with Neighborjet’s metaverse expertise to transform Thailand. We are trying to lead the world of Metaverse, using ZEPETO as a platform to provide a special future-oriented O2O (on/offline) experience suitable for the lifestyle of Thai consumers, and transforming Thailand’s soft power into Metaverse content to global users of ZEPETO. I will share it with them.”

In the Press Release dated September 1, 2022, Naver mentioned that it created 5 billion creative contents, 3 billion cumulative item sales, and over 7 million creative items that are created by creators.  Also, it has the Synergy with various global companies such as Bvlgari, Nike, Blackpink, Selena Gomez, and Samsung.
