In promoting the upcoming event, World Expo 2030, South Korea’s second largest city, Busan, hosted a digital space event on Naver Z’s Zepeto platform metaverse. Naver Zepeto is a platform where users get freedom of identity in a digital space. Zepeto became one of the fastest growing avatar platforms in Asia with nearly 20 million users consistently growing per month.
On June 23, the South Korean government submitted a proposal to BIE member states by selecting Busan to host the 2030 expo. Busan is competing with three more nations Italy, Ukraine, and Saudi Arabia to host the glorious 2030 expo. The event will be held on October 1, 2030 under the theme of “The era of change:Together for a Foresighted Tomorrow.” The upcoming expo event in 2023 is going to be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Expo is an international platform that provides an opportunity to interact with host nations and other participating nations to engage with the country’s cultural diplomacy, trade partners, and the famous tourist attractions.
To attract the attention of investors and Generation Z users for the 2030 expo event, the state launched “2030 World Expo X4 Entertainment World.” This platform provided metaverse users the opportunity to become K-pop trainees in X4 Entertainment, which was introduced by the most famous Korean drama Squid Games actor, Lee Jung-Jae.
The users can also connect through the digital band that was formed by the avatars. The brand represents most of Korea’s most popular music acts like Zion.T, JEON SOMI, and Arin of Oh My Girl.
To stand in its crypto market place, recently Busan signed a deal with global exchanges to expand the platform of the crypto space. The state was trying to develop its city-backed crypto exchange firms with the help of Binance, FTX, and Huobi Global platforms. Now Busan is considered a “blockchain regulation free zone” in the nation.
Recently, in an interview, Huobi stated that it will be the main sponsor for Busan Blockchain 2022, which is going to start on October 27. Now Busan is open source for blockchain technology and crypto business.
Mayor Park stated that “we will spread the word about Busan’s strong environment and support for digital finance, so that we can draw more blockchain talent to our city.”
