Bored Apes to Board The Bicycle Deck

NFT art has made a special place among digital communities across the globe. And Bored Ape Yacht Club remains the most famous collection among the virtual collectibles. From established celebrities to organizations, everyone wants a fat piece of this pie. Bicycle Playing Cards, a US based playing card brand, is the newest entrant in this list.

The 137-year old brand took over the Bored Ape NFT art during June 2022. They are planning to create the BAYC collection-themed card in future. The company is looking forward to collaborating with other owners of the collection to make an ape-dedicated deck.

Interestingly, the company does not have to struggle with the usage of Intellectual Property (IP) rights concerning the NFT collection. That’s because Yuga Labs allows the owners of collections made by them to use the tokens on their own accords. People can do anything they want, from creating artworks to using them as themes of their restaurants.

Bored Ape Yacht Club remains the only NFT art owned by several celebrities including Jimmy Fallon, Post Malone, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Gary Vee and more. Eminem and Snoop Dogg took the collection “higher” in their music video “From D 2 LBC.” The rappers presented the Bored Apes during MTV Music Video Awards 2022.

Apart from this, NFT enthusiasts are using the apes as their restaurant themes. On April 9th, 2022, sons of Vietnamese immigrants launched Bored and Hungry, a BAYC-themed restaurant, on Long Beach California. Couple of months after the launch, reports came that they are accepting only dollars following the market crash. But the owners countered the allegations by stating that they will never stop accepting ApeCoin and ETH.

Bicycle Playing Cards logo reflects the rising popularity of bicycles during the 19th century’s end. The company is currently owned by Belgium-based organization, Cartamundi. Bicycle playing cards come in a lot of varieties where Rider Back design remains their flagship theme. They follow a french deck pattern including a couple of jokers in the pack of cards.

Bicycle Playing Cards created four “War Series” decks dedicated to World War I in 1917. The packs represented all the armed forces active during the war. The pack includes Flying Ace for the Air Force, Dreadnaught for the Navy, Invincible for  the Marine Corps and Big Guns for the Army.

Bored Apes NFT had a floor price of 76 ETH ($98268) according to OpenSea at the time of publication. Yuga Labs, creators of the collection released “First Trip” of Otherside metaverse in July 2022, and is yet to release the full version of the game.
