Meta Caught the Culprit Behind VR Headsets Info Leaks to YouTuber

Investigation going since months, revealed that the unannounced Meta’s (former Facebook) VR headsets details were being shared anonymously by a leaker to a owner of YouTube channel “SadlyItsBradly,” Brad Lynch. 

Inside investigation  

The company’s CEO Andrew Bosworth informed the employees in an inside post. Said as a third-party contractor, is unmasked now been leaking crucial detailed infformation to Lynch to gain proffits against videos’ ads running on the channel. Meta chose to withdraw any further relation with so-called a leaker-third party contractor, noted The Verge.

The YouTube creator clearly specified that he gives money in the form of shared ad revenue in nexchange of the information he gets from his source. He said that “They might have asked because I wasn’t willing to give much money up front.” 

In 2022, his video described detailed CAD drawings and specs of the Meta Quest Pro, which was even sooner than the company actually revealed. Lynch who has over 114,000 subscribers on YouTube, told that his videos are made to “showcase what I believe is the best in Virtual Reality, Mixed Reality, and Augmented Reality.”

According to media reports, another video of the video content creator cracked out, displaying detailed information in specs and drawings of Quest 3, which Meta planning to introduce in late 2023. The new upcoming headsets are claimed to have better mixed reality (MR) tech, according to CEO Mark Zuckerburg. The cost of it is predicted to be between $300- $500. 

After the launch of Meta’s Quest Pro VR headsets at Meta Connect Conference in October 2022. Zuck describes these as the next big chunks that are going to thrive in the sector. Some techy nerds believe the entity is going to win this race, with its founder’s vision to capture the future’s internet– metaverse. Also, he thinks that demand for VR tech will boom similarly as television, computers, smartphones, etc. 

The company brings in AI to win metaverse

According to media reports, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, launched last year, has outshined everyone in the generative AI space. The San-Francisco based OpenAI Labs also developed the well-known DALL-E 2, which is a text-to-image converter tool, and GPT-3, used by millions of users. Meta also announced plans to launch its Make-A-Video that would help video by text commands in upcoming months. 

As per United Nations specialized agency ITU (International Telecommunication Union) reports in June 2022, claimed that “AI may be the most crucial piece of the metaverse puzzle thanks to its potential to enable the metaverse to scale.” Meta introduced an AI supercomputer in January 2022, which offers several types of “ultrafast” gaming, speedy and faultless translation of ample text, videos and pictures. These tech are being developed as a back support to Mark’s quest to win metaverse.
