Former MD of Ripple Navin Gupta Joins Crystal as the CEO

Most recently, Navin Gupta, the former Ripple managing director, has joined Crystal, a leading blockchain intelligence firm, as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). 

According to Gupta’s LinkedIn page, he started working as the vice president with Citigroup from 2001 to 2005. Later, he worked at HSBC for over ten years and has also worked with companies like Maitrayana Charity Foundation and Ripple. 

Navin replaced Marina Khaustova, who has been promoted to chief operating officer of Crystal as per reports. Crystal Blockchain offers transaction tracking software for institutions and the government. 

The move aims to expand its presence at the global level and solutions for international regulators, VASPs, and several others. Following the recent approval of Bitcoin spot ETF, a significant surge in the trading volume and number of Bitcoin enthusiasts has been seen.

Navin mentioned in his statement about Bitcoin and crypto adoption, “Regulators need superior intelligence and cutting-edge tools to navigate these changes, and TradFi institutions seek to manage risks effectively as they enter the digital assets market.” 

Navin departed from Ripple to explore other opportunities. He helped the firm expand into the Middle East and North Africa region (MEA) and several other markets. Most importantly, he also worked with the National Payments Corporation, an institution established by the Reserve Bank of India with the help of other banks to handle retail payments in the nation.

Other Well-Known Hirings in the Crypto Space 

Gemini, a popular centralized cryptocurrency exchange, hired Sachin Ranglani, the senior vice president of Paytm. Ranglani joined the firm as the head of the country; the exchange aims to expand its service in developing nations like India.  

One of the well-known crypto trading firms, GSR, recently onboarded Andreas Koukorinis as the head of trading. Earlier, he was working with JP Morgan, a financial giant globally. 

However, it is essential to note that George Osborne, a former British finance minister, has joined Coinbase as an advisor. Coinbase and other exchanges like OKX are hiring local candidates for their expansion in India.

Crypto Market Price Update 

The crypto market has reflected positive outcomes in the past few weeks, and the market capitalization of the whole sector followed the growth trajectory.

At the time of writing, the market cap was $1.98 Trillion. As per market analysts, the cap will soon achieve the milestone of $2 Trillion. A more than 20% boost is seen in the past 30 days of trading.

The market pioneer Bitcoin is flourishing constantly when writing was trading at $52,365 with a growth of more than 25% weekly. The boost in the trading price is claimed to be backed by the recently approved Bitcoin spot ETF and other reasons the 4th coming Bitcoin halving powers the surge.
