Charles Hoskinson Looking To Gemini For Cardano Listing, “Just Saying”

  • Gemini has received a new nudging to list Cardano (ADA).
  • Charles Hoskinson leveraged the Token2049 event to poke the trading platform.
  • Cardano as an ecosystem is growing with new Midnight Protocol update.

There is a picture of Cardano (ADA) founder Charles Hoskinson making rounds on the X app. The picture was taken at the TOKEN2049 blockchain event in Singapore.

In the image, Hoskinson stood next to the stand of Gemini, a crypto exchange run by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss. He held a piece of paper with the inscription “When Ada?”

Gemini Hinted at Potential Cardano Listing

While this question seems rhetorical, it is perceived as Hoskinson’s way of urging the Winklevoss twins’ exchange to list ADA. Often, multiple community members of memecoins ecosystems like Shiba Inu and BabyDoge ask such questions.

They do this to encourage major cryptocurrency trading platforms to list their supported crypto. It is worth noting that ADA is already on Gemini’s trading lists. The Cardano community had been expecting this listing for a very long time.

Earlier this year, an educational initiative by Gemini that highlighted Cardano fueled hope for the listing among ADA holders. The exchange published an article by Cardano Foundation CEO Frederik Gregaard on their educational platform, Cryptopedia.

In the article, Cardano was described as an “open-source protocol that focuses on democratizing the process of consensus and governance.” At the time, even SPO “St₳kΣ with Pride” was confident that Gemini would potentially explore support for Cardano Native Tokens (CNTs) besides listing ADA.

Since then, Gemini has not officially confirmed plans to list ADA, despite already offering trading for Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and other top cryptocurrencies. As expected, a listing on the exchange could trigger a more bullish run on ADA’s next price rally. At the time of this writing, ADA price was trading at $0.3315, having lost 0.38% of its previous value in 24 hours.

Cardano Midnight Protocol Launch Nightpaper

As part of the exciting activities in the Cardano ecosystem, the Midnight Protocol has debuted its “Nightpaper.” This paper introduces a new privacy-focused chain.

According to the details on this Nightpaper, the NIGHT token will be released and serve as a Cardano Native Asset (CNA). Noteworthy, Midnight does not engage in a system where one token is leveraged for both transactions and rewards.

It runs a dual-token system; hence, NIGHT will serve as an unshielded governance token. Apart from providing transparency for the network participants, it would also reward block producers and support consensus participation on the network.

DUST Token to Facilitate Transparency and Privacy

The second token highlighted in the Midnight Nightpaper is DUST. This will be used as a transaction resource on the network. Unlike NIGHT and traditional gas tokens, DUST is shielded. Therefore, it can still conceal users’ data while enabling transaction processing.

It will play a crucial role in Midnight’s privacy-focused applications, where transparency and privacy are priorities. It is expected that this new development will bring an influx of more users to the Cardano ecosystem.

Amongst the numerous improvements the Cardano protocol has seen in the last few months, the Chang Hard Fork upgrade remains one of the most crucial. This move completed the Cardano ecosystem’s transition to the Voltaire Era, in which governance control was handed to community members.
