Bitcoin ETF Inflows Hit $930M as BTC Price Tops $65K

Key Insights

  • Bitcoin ETF inflows reached $203.1 million during Tuesday’s session.
  • BTC price briefly touched $66,700 as institutional demand improved.
  • The price of Bitcoin now faces resistance near $68,000.

U.S.-listed spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds extended their inflow streak to six sessions on Tuesday. The products added $203.1 million as the BTC price traded above $65,000, SoSoValue data showed.

The funds attracted roughly $930 million during the six-session run. That marked their longest consecutive inflow streak since April.

The reversal mattered because the products remained negative for 2026 despite renewed demand. Continued subscriptions could support Bitcoin’s recovery, but yearly redemptions still limited the broader trend.

Bitcoin ETF Demand Strengthens Above $65,000

SoSoValue recorded $203.1 million in daily net inflows for July 21. That result extended positive flows across six consecutive U.S. trading sessions.

The same dataset placed cumulative net inflows since launch at $51.8 billion. Total net assets reached $80.9 billion after Bitcoin recovered from its July lows.

However, the yearly picture remained weaker. U.S. spot funds carried about $4.84 billion in net outflows during 2026.

That gap showed the latest streak had not repaired earlier withdrawals. It instead marked a short-term improvement in regulated Bitcoin demand.

BlackRock described its iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF as a brokerage-based route into Bitcoin exposure. The company said Coinbase Prime supported the product’s custody and trading infrastructure.

Fidelity described its Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund through a similar structure. The fund holds Bitcoin through Fidelity Digital Assets and tracks a proprietary reference rate.

Fidelity’s prospectus stated that the fund values its shares each trading day. It uses eligible spot-market feeds to calculate the Fidelity Bitcoin Reference Rate.

These structures convert investor subscriptions into regulated exposure without requiring direct wallet management. Their daily flows offer a visible measure of demand through U.S. brokerage accounts.

BTC Price Reclaims Key Trading Range

CoinGecko data showed the price of Bitcoin briefly reached $66,700 on Tuesday. Bitcoin later traded near $65,802, gaining about 2% over 24 hours.

Barron’s reported Bitcoin reached its highest level since June 2 during Tuesday’s advance. The publication placed the market near $66,443 at that time.

The rebound followed several weeks of unstable trading below $65,000. Buyers regained that level as Bitcoin ETF subscriptions improved.

Still, the move did not confirm a broader trend reversal. Bitcoin remained almost 48% below CoinGecko’s recorded $126,080 all-time high.

Alternative.me’s Crypto Fear and Greed Index moved from extreme fear into fear. The index measures Bitcoin sentiment using volatility, momentum, dominance and public interest data.

That reading reflected easing pessimism rather than broad optimism. Fear still dominated market positioning despite the higher BTC price.

Tuesday’s advance also occurred alongside improving appetite across several risk assets. However, higher oil prices and inflation concerns remained external risks for speculative markets.

Bitcoin ETF Flows Support Market Structure

Glassnode defines the short-term holder realized price as the average acquisition price for recently moved coins. These coins moved within the previous 155 days.

The metric matters because recent buyers often sell when prices return near their entry levels. That behavior can create resistance during market recoveries.

Bitfinex analysts placed the short-term holder cost basis near $68,000, Barron’s reported. They identified that area as a possible decision point for breakeven sellers.

The price of Bitcoin therefore faced potential supply above Tuesday’s high. A move toward $68,000 could test holders who bought before the latest decline.

Fund inflows offered spot demand beneath that resistance. However, six positive sessions alone could not establish lasting institutional accumulation.

The annual outflow balance remained the main counterweight. Persistent redemptions could weaken the connection between ETF subscriptions and the spot-market recovery.

Research published in May also found differences between Bitcoin ETF options and Chicago Mercantile Exchange futures carry rates. Researcher Mindy Mallory linked the gap to collateral and cross-margining limits.

That finding suggested regulated Bitcoin markets still operate across partly separated pools. ETF demand may influence spot prices without immediately removing futures-market pricing differences.

Bitcoin ETF Outlook Hinges on $68,000 Resistance

Bitcoin’s immediate structure depended on holding the recovered $65,000 area. A loss of that zone could return the market toward its former range.

A sustained move above $68,000 would clear the short-term holder cost basis identified by Bitfinex. It could also reduce nearby breakeven selling pressure.

The next verifiable catalyst will come from daily U.S. Bitcoin ETF flow reports. Traders will also watch Bitcoin’s response near $68,000 during upcoming sessions.
