Hyperliquid crypto rallied after President Donald Trump discussed a possible compliant U.S. entry for the decentralized exchange. Trump spoke Wednesday at a White House crypto meeting attended by regulators and industry executives. The remarks pushed fresh attention toward HYPE as traders repriced possible U.S. access.
The development mattered because Hyperliquid currently restricts U.S. users from its official interface under its terms. A regulated pathway could expand its addressable market without removing existing derivatives oversight. The reaction also showed how quickly regulatory signals can affect tokens tied to trading infrastructure.
The Wall Street Journal said the meeting included Selig and Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Paul Atkins. Coinbase, Ripple, Kraken, Robinhood, Gemini, Nasdaq, and Intercontinental Exchange executives also attended.
Hyperliquid Crypto Jumps After Trump Signals U.S. Path
CoinGlass data showed HYPE at $68.76, up 16.72% over 24 hours. Futures volume reached $4.94 billion, while spot volume stood near $286.77 million. Open interest rose to about $2.97 billion, showing heavy derivatives participation during the move.
CoinGecko placed the session range between $58.04 and $71.60. Its data also showed $878.58 million in token trading volume over 24 hours. The surge left HYPE below its June 16 all-time high of $76.87.
The Wall Street Journal reported Trump discussed Hyperliquid during the White House event on Aug. 19. He said Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chair Mike Selig was working on a compliant U.S. route. Trump described the effort as bringing Hyperliquid into the country in a “fully compliant legal fashion.”
Hyperliquid’s June terms classified U.S.-based users as restricted persons for its hosted interface. That distinction matters because the blockchain and its official front end are separate access layers. Trump’s remarks did not establish approval, licensing, or a completed registration process.
Hyperliquid Crypto Rally Tests Previous Record Zone
The HYPE price moved quickly toward its prior record area after Trump’s statement. CoinGecko data placed the token about 10% below its peak during the session. That kept the previous record zone as the nearest major technical reference.

Crypto trader Jelle also identified the former highs as the key market level. He said a reclaim could restore stronger momentum, while rejection could delay another leadership phase. Jelle also said he still held HYPE and targeted first profit-taking near $100.
That $100 level remained a personal trading target, not a confirmed market projection. The stronger technical signal remained the relationship between price and the June record. A sustained move above that area would mark a new high rather than resistance recovery.
Price volatility also widened during the move. CoinGlass reported about $20.47 million in HYPE futures liquidations over 24 hours. That figure showed leveraged positions absorbed losses while spot and derivatives demand accelerated together.
Open interest near $3 billion also showed traders kept substantial leveraged exposure after the initial price spike. CoinGlass data therefore pointed to continuing derivatives participation after the rally.
Hyperliquid Crypto Derivatives Activity Remains Elevated
DefiLlama data showed Hyperliquid processed $177.91 billion in perpetual volume over 30 days. Seven-day volume reached $32.52 billion, while 24-hour perpetual volume stood at $6.19 billion. The dataset also recorded $54.18 million in platform liquidation volume over one day.

Those figures did not support Coin Bureau’s claim of over $200 billion monthly volume at publication. DefiLlama’s current 30-day total remained below that threshold. The difference may reflect timing, methodology, or a different measurement window.
Hyperliquid documentation described HyperCore as a fully onchain perpetual and spot order-book system. Every order, cancellation, trade, and liquidation settles onchain through its Layer 1 architecture. HyperCore supports perpetual markets alongside spot trading and HyperEVM applications.
That structure makes U.S. compliance more complex than a simple geographic expansion. A regulated route would have to address derivatives access and applicable registration requirements. Trump’s statement confirmed regulatory work, but it did not describe the legal mechanism.
Hyperliquid Crypto Faces $76.87 Resistance After HYPE Price Surge
The next verifiable market level remains the June all-time high at $76.87. CoinGecko data placed that record on June 16, 2026. A move above it would place HYPE in price discovery.
On policy, traders now await clearer guidance from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. The agency had not announced a completed Hyperliquid approval process by publication. Until that occurs, Trump’s remarks remain a policy signal rather than formal authorization.
