Ethereum price has formed a golden cross as ETH crypto trades within a key range. The signal has renewed bullish talk, while Ethereum Foundation researchers have outlined Hegotá upgrade priorities and plans for a quantum-resistant Ethereum network.
Ethereum Price Tests Resistance After Golden Cross
Ethereum price is showing signs of renewed strength after a golden cross appeared on its chart. It added to the growing attention around the ETH crypto. A golden cross happens when a shorter-term moving average moves above a longer-term moving average. Traders often watch the setup as a sign that buying pressure may be building.
Crypto analyst MikybullCrypto said the latest golden cross is a reminder for ETH holders to watch the market closely. According to the post, the last golden cross produced a gain of more than 90%. However, that past move does not mean Ethereum will repeat the same performance this time.

At the same time, ETH crypto is facing a clear test around the $2,520-$2,530 area. Crypto Patel said Ethereum has been moving inside a defined range after its sharp move higher. The repeated attempts to break the upper boundary have so far failed, suggesting that sellers remain active around $2,530.
The $2,360-$2,370 area is the main support level within the current range. Therefore, Ethereum price could remain caught between these two areas until either side gives way.
A two-hour candle close above $2,530 would confirm a breakout from the range, according to the analysis shared by Crypto Patel. Such a move could put $3,000 in view. On the other hand, a move below $2,370 would weaken the current setup and could expose ETH crypto to a decline towards $2,000.
Ethereum Foundation Outlines Hegotá EIPs Priorities
While Ethereum price is drawing attention from traders, developers are also working on the network’s next major changes. The Ethereum Foundation’s Protocol Cluster has published two new posts covering the proposed Hegotá upgrade and its wider technical priorities.
The first post reviews all 62 EIPs proposed for Hegotá. About 60 researchers, engineers, and individual experts from all nine teams within the Protocol Cluster took part in the review. Together, they provided 397 tier grades before discussing items where opinions differed.

The resulting tier list is intended to give the teams a shared view of the proposals as they work towards deciding the scope of Hegotá. The foundation also published a second post covering current and emerging priorities across the protocol teams.
One major focus is making Ethereum’s Layer 1 quantum-resistant by December 2029. The foundation said this work is part of its longer-term research and development plans.
The two posts, therefore, give more context to how the proposed EIPs are being assessed. They also show that the Hegotá discussion is not limited to individual upgrades but also includes broader questions about the future direction of the Ethereum network.
Ethereum Price Analysis Points to a Key Decision
For Ethereum price, the immediate focus remains on whether buyers can push it above the $2,530 resistance level. The market has already tested that area several times, but each attempt has failed to produce a lasting break above it.
This leaves traders watching both sides of the range. A sustained move above resistance would strengthen the bullish case and could open a path towards $3,000. However, the market still needs to prove that buyers can hold the higher level rather than briefly move above it.

On the downside, $2,370 remains important. Losing that support would change the current range structure and raise the risk of a move towards $2,000.
The golden cross gives ETH crypto a positive technical signal, but the price still has to clear the resistance standing in its way. Meanwhile, work on Hegotá is moving forward, with researchers assessing 62 EIPs and discussing the technical priorities that could shape Ethereum’s next stage.
The Ethereum Foundation will also hold a Reddit AMA on September 16 at 2 pm UTC, where the Protocol Cluster is expected to discuss the Hegotá tier list, its priorities, and questions from the Ethereum community.
