MoonPay and WisdomTree have announced a collaboration to expand U.S. access to the WisdomTree Treasury Money Market Digital Fund.
The agreement centers on WTGXX, a tokenized money market mutual fund, and includes plans based on stablecoin reserves. WisdomTree is developing a new access point through its partner’s technology, targeting eligible individual investors beyond its existing distribution channels.
The agreement connects two parts of the companies’ businesses: investment access and stablecoin reserve management. Alongside the planned investor offering, the payments company intends to include WTGXX in its stablecoin reserve management.
Both initiatives form part of a relationship that could extend to additional tokenized funds and global markets.
MoonPay Network Adds a Distribution Route
The planned access point would connect WisdomTree’s fund offering with a network hosting more than 35 million accounts. That network also serves over 1,700 partners and reaches users through wallets, exchanges, and financial technology applications.

WisdomTree expects the arrangement to extend its reach beyond its own direct channels through broker-dealer WisdomTree Securities, Inc. For eligible U.S. investors, the project would create another route to WTGXX through the payments platform.
The announcement describes that route as under development, with blockchain technology expected to support access. It therefore outlines planned distribution rather than confirming that investors can already buy the fund through this channel.
Jonathan Steinberg, WisdomTree’s founder and CEO, linked the collaboration to changes in how people and businesses hold and transfer value.
He identified stablecoins as part of that shift and described the planned access point as another investment option. His comments focused on allowing eligible investors to deploy assets into WTGXX through an additional channel.
Stablecoin Reserves Form Part of the Agreement
Beyond individual investor access, MoonPay plans to use WTGXX within its stablecoin reserve management. This places the fund within both the distribution and reserve-management elements of the collaboration.
The announcement sets out reserve use as a plan alongside WisdomTree’s work on the new access point.
Caroline D. Pham, CEO of MoonPay Institutional, connected the agreement with broader adoption of blockchain infrastructure and financial asset tokenization. She said the companies’ working relationship concerned investor experiences within U.S. regulated markets and products.
Her remarks accompanied the companies’ plans to connect the fund with an established digital-asset payments network.
The companies also described the collaboration as a foundation for a broader strategic engagement. That possible expansion includes additional tokenized fund opportunities, with global markets among the areas under consideration.
WisdomTree Builds on Its Tokenization Strategy
WTGXX previously carried the Government Money Market Digital Fund name and began trading in its current form in November 2023.
The fund also holds SEC exemptions covering 24/7 trading and instant settlement. These exemptions form part of its regulatory framework as WisdomTree develops additional routes for investor access. Its digital fund offerings cover Treasury securities and other regulated assets.
The asset manager has also expanded distribution through platforms serving individual investors, financial institutions, and corporate treasury users.
Separately, its broader digital-asset business includes XRP-linked investment products, alongside its work on tokenized funds.
