- Stablecoin expertise appears in new Big Tech payments and Web3 roles.
- Apple seeks payments strategy expertise spanning tokenized deposits and blockchain.
- Google targets institutional Web3 architecture across Asia-Pacific financial clients.
Apple and Google are hiring specialists with stablecoin, blockchain and tokenization expertise as both companies expand work around digital payments and institutional financial infrastructure.
Apple posted an Apple Pay Financial Product Strategy Lead role on Aug. 26 that lists stablecoins, tokenized deposits and blockchain technology among its preferred qualifications. Google separately opened a Hong Kong-based Web3 architecture role focused on institutional digital-asset infrastructure across Asia-Pacific.
The postings show that established technology companies increasingly value expertise in tokenized financial systems.
However, neither vacancy announces a company-issued stablecoin, cryptocurrency or token.
Stablecoin Hiring Signals a Payments Strategy Shift
Apple’s careers page said the Financial Product Strategy Lead will support Apple Card and Apple Cash. The position covers long-term strategy, new growth opportunities, business planning, market analysis, and partnership evaluations.

Apple listed stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and blockchain technology among the role’s preferred qualifications. The company also sought experience with peer-to-peer payments, credit cards, and major payment systems outside the U.S.
The Cupertino-based position carried a base-pay range between $149,700 and $280,000. Apple said compensation would depend on qualifications, experience, skills, and location.
Google’s careers page listed an Industry Principal Architect for Web3 in Hong Kong. The role requires 10 years of system architecture, distributed systems, or cloud infrastructure experience. Candidates also need four years working with production-grade Web3 systems or blockchain protocols.
Google Stablecoin Role Targets Institutional Web3 Systems
Google said candidates should understand real-world asset tokenization, stablecoin rails, tokenized deposits, and digital-asset custody. Preferred expertise also covered multi-party computation, hardware security modules, validator networks, and blockchain indexing.
The architect will support Google Cloud engagements across Asia-Pacific. Target clients include protocol foundations, institutional exchanges, custodians, financial institutions, and decentralized applications.
Google said the employee will connect customer requirements with its product and engineering teams. The role also covers security, risk, and compliance architectures under regional regulatory frameworks.
That mandate extends beyond consumer crypto payments. It places the position around institutional infrastructure, custody, tokenization, and enterprise blockchain systems. Google also expects the architect to influence product priorities using recurring customer requirements.
Crypto Payment Infrastructure Expands Beyond Hiring
Google Cloud already operates products that support tokenized financial infrastructure. Its Universal Ledger documentation describes a managed distributed ledger for financial institutions and intermediaries.
The service lets organizations create payment services, tokenize assets, and manage commercial bank money digitally. It also supports transfers, settlement workflows, account permissions, and token lifecycle management.
Google introduced its Agent Payments Protocol in September 2025. The company said the protocol supports cards, real-time bank transfers, and stablecoins for agent-led payments.
Google developed the protocol with over 60 payments and technology organizations. Named participants included Coinbase, Mastercard, PayPal, Revolut, American Express, and Worldpay.
Apple’s current consumer payments infrastructure remains linked to conventional banking networks. Apple said in January that Chase will become the new Apple Card issuer.
The transition is expected to take about 24 months from the Jan. 7 announcement. Mastercard will remain the Apple Card payment network during that process.
Apple separately said Apple Pay operated across 89 markets in January 2026. The company reported more than 11,000 bank and network partners. That distribution gives its payments strategy role an established commercial base across major financial partners.
Hong Kong Rules Shape the Next Corporate Milestone
Hong Kong’s regulatory framework provides context for Google’s regional hiring. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority said its new licensing ordinance took effect on Aug. 1, 2025.
The law created a licensing regime for fiat-referenced digital tokens. The regulator said in February it was processing applications and expected few initial licenses.
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority also planned to run EnsembleTx throughout 2026. The pilot supports real-value transactions involving digital assets and tokenized deposits. It also aims to test tokenized central-bank-money settlement on a 24-hour basis.
Google’s job description specifically referenced Hong Kong Monetary Authority and Securities and Futures Commission requirements. That places regulatory knowledge alongside the role’s infrastructure and architecture responsibilities.
The hiring records therefore point toward internal capability building rather than announced token launches. Apple has not disclosed a blockchain product through this vacancy.
Google’s next verifiable milestone will come through hiring and product updates tied to its Web3 infrastructure. Hong Kong licensing decisions will provide another regulatory marker for institutional digital-asset activity.
