XRP News: Franklin Deploys $150M on XRPL as Price Stalls Near $1.30

Key Insights

  • XRP News centered on Franklin Templeton’s $150 million sgBENJI issuance on Oct. 22.
  • RWA.xyz recorded $642.2 million in distributed XRP Ledger assets and 451 tokenized assets.
  • XRP traded near $1.30, while spot exchange-traded fund inflows remained modest.

The latest XRP news focused on Franklin Templeton’s latest fund issuance, even as XRP traded around $1.30. The asset manager added approximately $150 million in tokenized money market fund shares on Oct. 22. Public ledger records placed the resulting share balance near $200 million, raising questions about adoption and token demand.

The transactions involved sgBENJI, which represents shares in Franklin’s Singapore-based U.S. dollar short-term money market fund. Two transfers each placed approximately 72.18 million shares into a single XRP Ledger wallet. Their transaction memos listed $1.039 per share, implying a combined issuance value near $150 million.

For XRP News readers, fund-share issuance differs from direct cryptocurrency settlement. The token represents a managed fund claim, not an XRP position.

XRP News: Franklin Templeton’s Issuance Reaches One Wallet

XRPScan transaction records dated Oct. 22 showed the first transfer at 02:58 UTC. A second transfer followed at 04:13 UTC. Together, they increased outstanding sgBENJI shares on the network to approximately 192.7 million.

At the recorded $1.039 valuation, the balance was approximately $200.2 million. An XRP News caveat emerged: the receiving account held the entire token supply in one visible wallet. The account’s ownership structure did not establish how many underlying investors participated.

In these circumstances, a custodian might hold shares for multiple clients. Public wallet counts cannot establish actual investor participation.

That distinction shaped the discussion. A large issuance can demonstrate institutional deployment without proving widespread secondary-market activity. The records also did not show $150 million in XRP purchases or corresponding native-token demand.

The XRP News backdrop included an earlier institutional agreement. Franklin Templeton’s Sept. 18, 2025 announcement established earlier commercial plans with DBS and Ripple.

The partners proposed eligible-client trading between sgBENJI and Ripple USD (RLUSD), with collateral-based lending under consideration. Those plans did not independently identify participants in October’s issuance.

XRP News: RWA Figures Reveal a Concentrated Market

RWA.xyz’s XRP Ledger dashboard listed 451 real-world assets on Oct. 25. It measured the distributed asset value at $642.2 million and represented a value of nearly $4.66 billion. The separate stablecoin category stood near $998.4 million.

Together, those categories approached $6.3 billion, but they measure different activities. The represented value tracks assets recorded through blockchain infrastructure, rather than freely transferable balances. Distributed value more closely reflects tokens available across eligible holders, subject to product restrictions.

The figures also require the separation of transfer categories. RWA.xyz listed $6.57 million in monthly RWA transfers but $7.32 billion in stablecoin transfers.

The latest XRP news highlights the need for caution when describing the figures as a “tokenization record.” The dashboard provided a current snapshot, not a verified all-time high for a comparable metric. Its 451-asset reading also differed from social posts circulating a count of 423.

RWA.xyz ranked Franklin Templeton’s XRP Ledger presence near $192.7 million under its platform table. The service listed Ripple USD above it and Ondo’s tokenized assets below. These rankings describe recorded asset values, not profits, secondary-market turnover, or XRP buying pressure.

XRP News: ETF Inflows Face the $1.30 Price Test

SoSoValue’s XRP ETF dashboard data indicated approximately $4.26 million in U.S. spot XRP fund inflows during Oct. 19–23. The modest rebound followed roughly $1.84 million in outflows the previous week. The flow comparisons require careful interpretation, as a holdings-based tracker estimated weekly flows of approximately $2.1 million.

These ETF figures measured investment product flows, not subscriptions to Franklin’s sgBENJI fund. The products also serve different purposes: spot funds track XRP exposure, while sgBENJI represents money market fund shares. Combining their balances would overstate direct demand for XRP.

Spot-market price action remained less decisive. Kraken’s Oct. 25 quote placed XRP near $1.30. Exchange data showed a seven-day trading range around $1.25–$1.37, leaving the token below its recent upper boundary.

So, the XRP news analysis suggests that a sustained move above $1.37 could reopen the $1.40 area tested earlier in October. Conversely, a $1.25 loss would weaken the recent trading range. Neither outcome follows automatically from growth in tokenized assets or positive ETF flows.

The cross-border payments case remained part of XRP News coverage. The Financial Stability Board’s G20 roadmap targets one-hour completion for 75% of payments by the end of 2027. It does not endorse XRP, and infrastructure adoption does not necessarily create proportional demand for the token.

New holdings now face a practical test: visible usage, alongside a sustained XRP price recovery. This analysis is informational, not financial advice. Cryptocurrency prices remain volatile; readers should conduct independent research before investing.
