Bitcoin SV is a derivative of Bitcoin Cash, and the creators might not have performed the necessary tweaks to the architecture. Now, due to this similarity in architecture, Bitcoin SV nodes are accidentally connecting to Bitcoin Cash nodes when in safe mode.

This issue of cross-connection came into the limelight last week and was solved only now. A comment on GitHub, the blockchain associated with Bitcoin Cash, is longer, and this leads to issues with the Bitcoin SV when it is in safe mode.

When Bitcoin SV finds a longer than usual chain, it enters safe mode, and for now, the only solution is to force disable the safe mode.

A twitter user, Ben Ferret, who is a free software advocate, made a tweet related to this issue. In his tweet, he talked about the reason why Bitcoin SV was connecting to Bitcoin cash and offered the temporary solution for this issue. He further added that a couple of chains are still being mined in Bitcoin SV, and it has created a huge mess.

The issue is a direct result of the similarity in the design of Bitcoin SV and the Bitcoin cash. One can realize the similarity between these two by acknowledging the fact that the nodes powering these two are getting confused.

What makes this problem even worse is that Bitcoin SV was launched in 2018, and for the past two years, nobody realized this. It seems either the developers did not consider the consequences of this similarity or were oblivious to the fact.

Bitcoin SV has received a lot of flack lately due to the divisive activities of Craig Wright, the creator of Bitcoin SV. Recently, Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales said that BSV “offers nothing” and that it absolutely will not be used by Wikipedia.”

His statement came in response to speculations made by Bitcoin SV fans who were expecting Jimmy Wales to praise the initiative while attending the CoinGeek conference.
