UTA Make Moves as a Part of Push ini Web3
United Talent Agency (UTA) has collaborated with the MV3 NFT collection. It was co-created by Jessie Nickson-Lopez (Stranger Things writer) and three NFT artists. The move is part of the agency’s rapid push into the Web3 sector. Andrew Wang, Devotion founder; Emonee LaRussa, an artist chosen to create non-fungible tokens for the Grammys; and Vinnie Hager, creator of Letters NFT collection joined the agency’s roster.
UTA will present the MV3 digital collectibles from Metav3rse, a virtual publication, offering NFT news updates to the users across several social media projects. The collection co-created by Torey Kohara Nickson-Lopez and Roberto Nickson features several characters associated with the fictional Eluna City and were quickly sold after the initial public release.
Similar to the other popular NFT collections like Bored Apes Yacht Club, MV3 is anticipated to expand the intellectual property into events, books, video games, television and films. The holders of the NFT collection will be offered the opportunities to engage in the future storylines associated with the MV3 characters.
UTA’s Web3 division head, Lesley Silverman stated to a news website that, ‘similar to the birth of YouTube as a latest platform, the organization sees the birth of NFTs, but with Web3. NFT collections have witnessed a sharp surge during the past few months. OpenSea, the biggest NFT marketplace, saw a massive downfall of 70% in the sales volume during May and June. But Lesley is still optimistic about the situation and thinks that this is the time to “build.”
The UTA team has added three more agents in their staff to meet the demand. Internet Friends DAO co-founder and UTA ventures, cultural marketing, entertainment division head Griffin Lasker; former Thrive Market senior brand project manager, Caroline Hooven; and Evercore analyst and former AWS’s startup business development associate, Erlan Nyssanov. All of them will report to Silverman and assist in identifying talent and key collaborations.
Lesley said that, ‘they are witnessing an increase in deals to access crypto-native creators. Prime reason for this is the escalating interest of people in this sector. So if a brand wants to enter, they are seeking a native creator to collaborate.’
