A Huge Update For Meta Metaverse

No matter what people say, Meta has proved itself as the top notch company. First, it took over the social media industry, now it is going after the metaverse. The company announced in November 2021 that they will go by the title of Meta instead of Facebook. They said from now on, their focus will center around metaverse development.

Company’s Meta Connect Conference 2022 revealed interesting details about their upcoming updates. Zuck Bucks’ “legs show-off” remains the most interesting of all. Mark Zuckerberg announced that avatars are getting legs in Horizon. He was seen jumping and lifting his legs in the video. It was really fun and exciting to watch.

They are using motion capture technology to integrate such kind of physics in their virtual world. This is just a preview of what the future holds for the users. In August 2022. Mark revealed a selfie of his avatar to celebrate Horizon’s Spain and Paris launch. It was so bad that a kid would get nightmares after seeing the pic. But that was because its development was in early stages.

Soon he revealed the updated graphics version of the avatar via an Instagram post. That restored faith in all of those who witnessed the horrible selfie previously, believe me. Zuck expressed that this is nothing compared to what Horizon graphics are capable of. This shows that Meta is actually serious about taking over the metaverse throne when it arrives.

Though Meta is not the only organization working hard to develop virtual worlds. Microsoft, Apple, Nvidia, and more are actively engaged in construction of digital spaces. The iPhone creators are yet to reveal their long-awaited VR goggles. The company was supposed to reveal the gadgets during the WorldWide Developer Conference (WWDC 2022), but was delayed due to developmental issues.

Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard in January 2022 for around $70 Billion. Satya Nadella, company’s CEO, said that “This deal will offer building blocks in metaverse development. Activision is the studio behind the best FPS Military shooter Call of Duty. They showed how far they can get with respect to a physics-accurate game with its latest release COD Modern Warfare II and Warzone II, maybe this can help in creating a more realistic virtual world.

Nvidia’s Omniverse allows developers to create metaverse applications. The company has already established itself as king of Graphic Processing Units (GPUs) in the industry. Graphics will play a huge role in digital spaces and what other organizations can offer better services than them.

It is still a developing concept and it takes time and effort to construct such a sophisticated world. It is expected that the AR/VR market will explode following the arrival of metaverse.
