Bitfinex, a crypto exchange owned and operated by iFinex Inc is backing sufferers of Hurricane Julia in El Salvador. The platform is providing means and giving emergency aid at its best. Hurricane Julia is a deadly tropical cyclone that destroyed many regions of the country in October 2022.
Julia emerged from a tropical wave in the tropical North Atlantic Ocean and converted into a storm and named on October 7. On October 8, it converted into a hurricane. The storm shortly moved towards the coast of El Salvador on October 10. Due to this, heavy rainfall, floods and mudslides occurred which were somehow deadly.
The current Salvadoran ambassador of the United States, Milena Mayorga along with William Soriano, and Christian Guevara has given the donations personally to some of the victims’ households in the name of Bitfinex. A broad majority of the medical and emergency aid has been given in the country. The step is intended to grow into the nation’s Bitcoin Metropolis.
The chief technology officer at Bitfinex, Paolo Andoino expressed his feelings and stated that “As a part of our devotion to the El Salvador, we are extremely glad that we are capable of helping native communities and wish the help that we provide to these affected areas by the deadly tropical cyclone Hurricane Julia will help folks heal their lives.”
