Key Insights:
- Bitcoin ETF demand strengthened across the broader six-week fund-flow window.
- Crypto funds recorded $6.8 billion in inflows over six consecutive weeks.
- Bitcoin held near $78,000, while $79,500 remained immediate resistance.
Bitcoin exchange-traded fund demand stayed firm across a broader six-week window. Meanwhile, Bitcoin held near $78,000 on Sept. 15, 2026. The setup kept $79,500 as the immediate level separating consolidation from another test of $80,000.
The Kobeissi Letter said crypto exchange-traded funds attracted $1.3 billion last week. It said total inflows reached $6.8 billion across six consecutive weeks. The same research account put BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust inflows at $3.4 billion during that period.
Bitcoin ETF Flows Diverge from Daily U.S. Spot Data
Farside Investors showed a weaker short-term picture for U.S. spot Bitcoin products. Its dataset recorded net outflows on four sessions between Sept. 8 and Sept. 11. Those sessions produced combined outflows of about $462.7 million.

Farside recorded another $9.7 million inflow on Sept. 14, based on available fund data. Cumulative U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF flows totaled nearly $55.23 billion, as shown in the table. The difference shows why weekly crypto-fund totals cannot be treated as spot Bitcoin-only flows.
That divergence limited the case for treating recent institutional demand as uniformly positive.
BlackRock data showed the iShares Bitcoin Trust held $60.62 billion in net assets on Sept. 11. The fund closed at $43.77 that day, while its sponsor fee remained 0.25%. BlackRock said the product seeks to reflect Bitcoin’s price through an exchange-traded structure.
That scale kept IBIT central to institutional Bitcoin exposure. However, the latest U.S. daily flows remained uneven despite stronger multi-week demand for crypto funds.
Global Markets Investor reported roughly $3 billion of year-to-date outflows from U.S.-listed China ETFs. It put peak-to-trough outflows since May near $3.5 billion. The selling covered funds tracking large-cap, internet, technology, and semiconductor shares.
Those figures provided a useful cross-asset contrast, but they did not prove rotation into crypto. Fund flows measure allocation decisions inside separate products. Investors can reduce China exposure without directing the proceeds into Bitcoin or other digital assets.
The timing only showed concurrent allocation shifts across separate risk markets during September.
Bitcoin ETF Demand Meets $79,500 Bitcoin Price Resistance
CoinGlass data showed the Bitcoin price near $78,532 during trading on Sept. 15. Bitcoin gained about 2.3% over 24 hours, while its seven-day performance remained slightly negative. Spot trading volume stood near $4.8 billion across tracked exchanges.

That Martini Guy identified $79,500 as the immediate four-hour resistance level. He said a clean break could reopen the $80,000-$82,000 area. Failure to reclaim that level would leave the market inside its recent consolidation range.
The price of Bitcoin had already rejected levels above $82,000 earlier in September. That kept short-term momentum dependent on a confirmed break of resistance rather than on ETF demand alone.
A move through $79,500 would shift attention toward the prior monthly high area. A rejection could keep traders focused on nearby support before positioning for another attempt.
Bitcoin ETF Flows Face Elevated Futures Positioning
CoinGlass showed Bitcoin futures open interest near $53.06 billion on Sept. 15. Futures volume reached roughly $66.4 billion over 24 hours, far above tracked spot volume. Around $91.7 million in Bitcoin futures positions were liquidated during the same period.
The gap between futures and spot activity indicated greater leverage in the current price range. That does not establish directional conviction by itself. It does show that liquidations could amplify the next move around resistance or support.
The derivatives structure also makes ETF demand only one part of the short-term price equation. Spot fund buying can support demand, but leveraged positioning can still drive faster intraday moves.
The Kobeissi Letter’s six-week inflow measure suggested that institutional allocation had improved compared with earlier periods. Farside’s daily table showed that U.S. spot Bitcoin flows remained inconsistent during the latest sessions. Both datasets therefore pointed to stronger medium-term demand than immediate daily momentum.
Bitcoin Price Watches $77K Support Before $80K Retest
That Martini Guy identified $77,000 as the next support level below the current trading. He said losing that area could expose $70,500 as the larger downside level. The $79,500 mark remained the first upside barrier.

CoinGlass pricing kept Bitcoin above the lower support during the Sept. 15 trading session. Futures open interest also remained elevated as traders positioned around the range. That increased the importance of confirmation before treating an intraday break as durable.
The next verifiable trigger remains a confirmed move through $79,500 or a loss of $77,000. ETF flow updates will provide the next institutional-demand check alongside that technical range.
