Solana Price Prediction: SOL Reclaims $100 & Eyes $110 Breakout

Key Insights:

  • Solana price prediction centers on holding $100 and challenging $110.
  • SOL derivatives open interest reached $5.83 billion amid the rebound.
  • Losing $96 could return attention toward the $84.50 support zone.

Solana (SOL) price traded around $99.5 on Sept. 17, 2026, after recovering from this week’s drop toward $96. The latest Solana price prediction now centers on whether buyers can establish support above $100. Traders also watched $110 as the next resistance zone after repeated failures at that level.

The recovery followed a volatile Federal Reserve session and renewed strength across SOL crypto markets. Federal Reserve records showed policymakers raised rates 25 basis points on Sept. 16. That decision lifted the federal funds target range to 3.75%–4.00%.

Solana Price Prediction Focuses on $100 Recovery

CoinMarketCap data showed the Solana price near $100 on Sept. 17, 2026. SOL had closed Sept. 15 near $96.89 after losing 5.47% that day. The token then closed Sept. 16 near $98.64 as buyers returned.

Alex Marzell wrote that SOL had spent 36 hourly closes below $100 after Sept. 15. He said a close above that level mattered after several intraday failures. His downside marker remained near $96.08 if buyers lost the reclaimed zone.

Rand Group also said SOL continued defending horizontal support while pressing against a local downtrend. The trading group viewed that compression as a possible setup for a breakout. Its chart-based assessment did not provide a fixed upside target.

Solana Price Prediction Puts $110 Resistance in Focus

That Martini Guy identified $110 as the more important resistance above $100. He said SOL broke from an $84.50 range in August before advancing toward $110. The token later failed several times around that upper boundary.

His analysis placed the current trading range between roughly $96 and $108. A sustained move above $110 would indicate a range breakout under that framework. Losing $96 would instead expose the former $84.50 range area.

Ella also identified $95–$96 as the immediate support area before the Fed decision. She said SOL fell to $96.13 around the announcement, then rebounded toward $98.72. Her analysis treated $100 as the first recovery threshold after that reaction.

The Federal Open Market Committee voted 12-0 to raise rates by 25 basis points. Its Sept. 16 statement cited elevated inflation and resilient domestic spending. Higher rates can pressure risk assets by increasing returns available on dollar-denominated instruments.

SOL Crypto Derivatives Show Heavy Positioning

CoinGlass data showed Solana futures open interest at $5.83 billion on Sept. 17. Twenty-four-hour futures volume stood near $7.03 billion, versus $756.88 million in reported spot volume. SOL traded near $99.61 on the derivatives platform during the reading.

CoinMarketCap’s seven-day history showed SOL closed above $102 on Sept. 11 and Sept. 14. The asset then fell below $97 on Sept. 15 before beginning its recovery. That sequence kept the broader range intact despite the midweek selloff.

CoinGlass figures also showed derivatives turnover far exceeded reported spot volume on Sept. 17. That gap can amplify reactions when leveraged positions cluster near technical levels. It does not, however, prove that traders hold a net bullish position.

That positioning leaves the market sensitive to sharp moves around the $96 and $110 boundaries. High open interest shows substantial outstanding futures exposure, but it does not establish price direction. Traders still require spot demand to validate any technical breakout.

Solana’s network activity also provided a separate fundamental backdrop for SOL crypto traders. The Solana Foundation said the network maintained uninterrupted block production during an Aug. 12 infrastructure failure. It temporarily knocked nearly 29% of the network stake offline.

Solana Price Faces $96 Support and $110 Resistance

The Solana Foundation also outlined protocol work around a larger transaction format in August. The research described v1 transactions and an increase in maximum transaction size from 1,232 to 4,096 bytes. That work remains separate from short-term price confirmation.

Celal Kucuker presented a much higher speculative scenario, placing $1,000 within a possible parabolic structure. He also identified $59 as a potential major bottom and acknowledged the forecast could fail. Current market data does not confirm that long-range target.

The next Federal Open Market Committee meeting is scheduled for Oct. 27–28, according to Federal Reserve records. Before then, traders can track whether SOL converts $100 into support. The $110 ceiling remains the clearest nearby confirmation level.

For now, the Solana price remains trapped between defined support and resistance levels. A sustained hold above $100 would keep $110 as the next technical test. A break below $96 would draw attention back to the $84.50 support area.
