XRP News: XRP Open Interest Jumps 70% as Price Eyes Historical Twist in October

Key Insights

  • XRP news gains attention as Binance open interest posts its strongest growth since August 2025.
  • XRP price has risen about 50% in one month after gaining more than 70% since late August.
  • Ripple Coin utility remains linked to XRPL payments, tokenization, DEX activity and growing ETF demand.

XRP news is drawing fresh attention as open interest on Binance records its strongest monthly growth since August 2025. Notably, XRP price gains have lifted futures activity and revived focus on what October could bring for the market. Recent XRP data also puts past October losses in view for traders.

XRP News Shows Strong Growth In Open Interest

XRP news has turned toward the futures market after XRP open interest on Binance posted its strongest monthly increase since August 2025. The data shows an average monthly growth of almost 1.3% on Binance. That marks a major change in futures activity around Ripple Coin.

The increase comes as XRP has moved through a strong technical rebound since late August. During that period, XRP gained more than 70%. XRP price has also climbed roughly 50% over the past month. The token was trading around $1.50 when the data was shared.

The rise in open interest suggests that more capital is entering XRP futures positions. Both long and short traders have increased their exposure as the market moved higher. That does not mean every new position is betting on another rise. Futures markets include traders taking different views on the direction of XRP.

There is also another factor behind the increase. As XRP price rises, the value of existing open positions can increase even without a similar increase in position size. This means the stronger open interest reading reflects both new trading activity and the higher value of positions already in the market.

For XRP news watchers, the Binance data gives a clearer view of how the recent price move has affected derivatives activity.

Past October Losses Put XRP Price In Focus

The next part of the story comes from the XRP historical performance, particularly during October. The figures shared in the posts show that the previous two October periods ended with losses. XRP recorded a decline of 11.9% in 2025 and 16.7% in 2024.

That record puts the current XRP price move against a different backdrop. The token enters the period after a large rebound from its late-August levels. Historical figures, however, do not determine what happens during the next month. They only show how XRP performed during those earlier periods.

The wider yearly figures also show that XRP has experienced sharp changes across different market periods. In 2026, XRP has recorded a yearly change decline of 17.9%, with a high of $2.40 and a low of $0.9891.In 2025, the token posted a yearly change decline of 11.6%, reaching a high of $3.64 and a low of $1.65.

Those numbers help explain why October has become an important point for traders watching Ripple Coin. The recent rebound has changed the short-term picture, while the older October figures provide a clear historical reference.

Ripple Coin Utility Remains Tied To The XRPL

Beyond futures trading, Ripple Coin continues to have a wider story around the XRP Ledger. Market analyst Vet, responding to Token Relations, pointed to the XRPL approach to tokenization, decentralized exchanges, and payments.

He said these functions are kept simple on the XRP Ledger rather than being split across many versions of the same feature. The post also highlighted the network’s long operating history and its ability to continue closing blocks.

That matters because the XRP story is not limited to price movements or futures markets. The XRP Ledger is also being discussed around real-world uses that include payments, tokenization and DEX activity. Token Relations separately highlighted growing institutional interest in XRP through exchange-traded products.

According to the post, XRP ETF net assets grew by 80% in Q3, reaching an all-time high of $1.77 billion. Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan linked that demand to confidence in XRP’s staying power and its real-world applications.

He also pointed to stablecoins, cross-currency activity, and liquidity. For now, the Binance figures show stronger futures activity, while XRP price performance and XRPL utility remain key parts of the Ripple Coin story.
