SpaceX Stock Price Rebounds as Boost Mobile Deal Talks Surface

Key Insights:

  • SpaceX stock (SPCX) price rose 1.66% to $136.95 premarket after Friday’s 6.37% decline.
  • SpaceX reportedly weighs buying Boost Mobile or gaining access to its network.
  • SpaceX expects its $8 billion spectrum purchase to close in the first half of 2027.

SpaceX stock (SPCX) price rebounded in premarket trading on November 2, 2026, as reports detailed discussions involving EchoStar’s Boost Mobile business.

The Washington Post disclosed talks over buying the carrier or securing access to its existing wireless network. The proposals support Elon Musk’s plans for Starlink Mobile, a U.S. cellphone service combining satellite connections and ground networks.

SpaceX Stock Price Recovers After Friday’s 6% Decline

The SpaceX stock price lost $9.17, or 6.37%, compared with its previous close of $143.89 on October 29.

During Friday’s session, shares opened at $137.85 and reached an intraday high of $140.20, according to Google Finance data. However, the price later reached $134.50 and finished just $0.22 above that low.

As per the SPCX stock update, it recorded approximately 122.65 million shares in trading volume for the session.

An earlier premarket quote placed the SpaceX stock price at $136.95 at 7:30 a.m., up by $2.23 from Friday’s close. That gain equaled 1.66%, but the quote remained $6.94 below Thursday’s closing price.

Friday’s chart data showed an early climb toward $140, followed by lower prices through the afternoon. Short-term recoveries failed to reverse the decline, and the SpaceX stock price approached $135 during the final part of trading.

Meanwhile, EchoStar gained by about 3.4% premarket, T-Mobile fell by 2%, and AT&T and Verizon declined, according to a Reuters report.

The SpaceX discussions over the potential acquisitions have continued for several months. Elon Musk met with EchoStar Chairman Charlie Ergen in October to discuss a possible agreement between the companies.

Earlier, Musk also sought network access from Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile, but all three rejected his proposal.

The washingtonpost.com Boost already offers a range of budget phone plans through network capacity from AT&T and T-Mobile, giving customers nationwide cellular coverage. However, those carriers may need to approve any transfer of Boost’s network agreements to a new owner.

EchoStar reported 7.38 million wireless subscribers at June’s end, with Boost Mobile and Gen Mobile accounting for most customers.

During the second quarter, EchoStar lost approximately 118,000 retail wireless subscribers across its business. By comparison, the company added 212,000 subscribers during the same period in 2025.

An acquisition could give Elon Musk an operating wireless business, together with customer accounts and a retail distribution platform. Meanwhile, MoffettNathanson values the U.S. wireless market at $235 billion.

Separately, SpaceX agreed on October 8 to acquire Grain Management’s nationwide 800 MHz spectrum portfolio for approximately $8 billion. The purchase covers up to 14 megahertz of paired spectrum, according to the company’s filing with U.S. securities regulators.

Following that, SpaceX described its goal as becoming “a major mobile carrier in the US” through the spectrum purchase. The company plans to combine satellite links with cellular infrastructure, including coverage inside buildings and across dense urban areas.

The spectrum transaction requires approval from the Federal Communications Commission, along with other customary closing conditions, according to Grain.

SpaceX (SPCX) expects the spectrum purchase to close in the first half of 2027, according to its latest quarterly filing.
