What was the XRP Army doing at Ethereum’s Event?

To clear the clouds Warren Paul Anderson, product manager for ripple, published a blog post on Xpring, he cleared intentions of Ripple team to “build bridges” with Ethereum. He further thanked people for really taking an interest in this.

Firstly he mentioned that Xpring is an open platform for blockchain developments and the Ripple dev team builds open source solutions and supports all others who do the same.

XRP community support and contribute to the development of open-source projects implementing the C++ (rippled) implementation of the XRP Ledger, the Rust and Java implementations of Interledger Protocol, Codius, Web Monetization, Open Payments, and several other open-source core libraries.

Ripple is also part of the C++ Standards Committee since 2015 and is also part of W3C for web payments.

Further in his blog Anderson praised the Ethereum community for reaching a whopping 1 million developers worldwide. To support Build on Blockchain Mission Xpring team sponsored challenges on Gitcoin leading up to ETH Denver during the Sustain Web 3 virtual hackathon.

Every challenge was focused on the interoperability theme to bridge the gap between XRP Ledger (XRP) and Ethereum (ETH) over Interledger Protocol (ILP). Building Interoperability between XRP to ETH and ERC-20 tokens is crucial, as XRP doesn’t have a compute layer to support Ethereum based complex DeFi smart contracts.
