Solana Price Falls Below $105 as Yuga Labs Opens Mudwater Claims

Key Insights:

  • Solana price dipped below $105 as Yuga Labs opened Mudwater claims.
  • BAYC NFTs qualify for ten packs each; MAYC NFTs qualify for two.
  • Mudwater directs 2.5% of eligible trading value toward ApeCoin purchases.

Solana Price fell below $105 as Yuga Labs opened claims for Mudwater, a physical and digital trading card collection. It features Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) art and offers packs to holders of BAYC and Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC).

The Solana price stood near $104 after retreating from $120. It fell about 5.6% over seven days. The decline is due to broader market conditions, not the launch.

Yuga Labs’ cards arrive as stablecoin transfers and tokenized-equities trading increase on Solana. September transfers reached 557 million, while Q3 2026 tokenized-equity volume reached $7.12 billion.

Yuga Labs’ collection has 120 designs based on BAYC art, including foil and numbered cards, plus eight one-of-one cracked-ice editions. Each BAYC NFT qualifies for ten packs, while each MAYC NFT qualifies for two. Each pack contains ten cards.

The claim program runs through January 19, 2027. Its fixed supply is 10,000 boxes, with 24 packs in each, or 240,000 packs altogether. The official Mudwater site listed more than 140,000 packs available through the initial claim program.

Yuga Labs reserved 7,134 boxes for the community airdrop, 566 for onboarding, and 300 for partner communities. A further 2,000 boxes make up the commercial reserve, or 20% of supply.

Otherside and ApeChain holders, along with selected Solana communities, are included in partner allocations. Eligible holders can claim through the project website, though associated network fees may apply.

Mudwater directs 2.5% of eligible digital trading value toward ApeCoin purchases. Collectors receive APE proportionally according to qualifying holdings, which can include cards, unopened packs, sealed boxes, and cases. A separate 2.5% royalty applies to NFT transactions. It is distinct from the amount used to buy APE.

Cards, packs, and Totems are tradable on OpenSea. Collectors can combine 24 pack tokens into one sealed box token. Ten box tokens would convert into a case token.

Physical-card redemptions and conversions into digital tokens remain planned. The Otherside game currently uses demonstration cards. Players stake three cards each, and the winner receives one card selected randomly from the opponent’s stake.

Yuga Labs plans to support actual Mudwater cards in a later game release. The project also plans random serialized-pack awards 30 days after claims begin.

Solana Price and Network Activity Show Separate Signals

Solana ranked first for stablecoin transfers in September, recording 557 million. That was up 33% from August and averaged 18.6 million transfers daily. Lower fees and faster transactions have also drawn projects to the network.

Separately, Lark Davis shared Blockworks figures showing tokenized-equities volume at $290 million in Q3 2025. It rose to $5.09 billion in Q2 2026 and $7.12 billion in Q3 2026.

The Solana price chart showed a 24-hour range from $101.41 to $104.96. Its Relative Strength Index stood at 38.86, below its 45.14 moving average.
