There is a debate concerning whether or not artificial intelligence (AI) will kill a majority of jobs. As of now, AI is winning. A latest update highlights a leading advertising company, WPP plc (LON: WPP), has partnered with leading chipmaker, Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA), to enhance their advertising business.

Artificial Intelligence Will Make Advertising Easier

Financial Times reported that the advertising agency will use generative AI for its future campaigns. The partnership will combine the power of AI and Omniverse, Nvidia’s metaverse platform, to boost the company’s productivity. Moreover, Nvidia President, Jensen Huang, will reveal the platform on Monday. It will enable WPP to create advertising campaigns within a matter of minutes.

Nvidia’s 3D imaging software can create photorealistic metaverse objects adaptable to any virtual surroundings they are placed in. A rainy environment would dampen it while a dusty one can tone down its color. Similarly, the object, as Financial Times explained, like a car can be put into the streets of Hong Kong. This may cut the cost of global campaigns drastically.

According to Mark Read, WPP CEO, “We are able to use generative AI to now personalize and . . . customize [advertising] to every environment in the world: you can create 10,000 versions within a couple of minutes.” Huang said, “The world’s industries, including the $700bn digital advertising industry, are racing to realize the benefits of AI.”

AI can pose a real threat to traditional advertising companies given its potential to create jaw-dropping campaigns. Globally, the technology has attracted the eyes of tech titans including Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT), Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META), and more. In fact, Mark Zuckerberg, Meta CEO, has temporarily shifted the focus from the metaverse to artificial intelligence.

Nvidia Harnessing The Power of AI and Metaverse

The GPU maker is on a rising spree since the beginning of the year with company shares gaining almost 120% since. During Nvidia’s GTC conference, Huang noted that the company will bring AI to every industry. Additionally, the organization unfurled a set of tools that can change the face of businesses and creators’ productivity.

During Computex 2023, Nvidia gave a glimpse of how they plan to use AI in gaming, The Verge reported. A video showcased the company using their technology to interact with in-game characters in real time. According to Reuters, the organization chief highlighted that everyone can be a programmer using this technology. The chipmaker also showcased how Omniverse can enhance workflows using tools like ChatGPT.

Artificial Intelligence is making its presence known in almost every industry. Ukraine is using Plantir’s (NASDAQ: PLTR) AI powered equipments in the war against Russia. Microsoft has invested in OpenAI’s ChatGPT while Google came up with Bard.

Nvidia is also working on metaverse applications with Omniverse. BMW, the German luxury automaker, revealed they will enhance the use of the platform for their manufacturing facility’s digital twin. AI can help create life-like avatars in virtual worlds.

Data shows that the metaverse sector was valued at $58.5 billion in 2021. Currently, there are nearly 400 million unique monthly active users in virtual worlds. Moreover, Google search for the term reached 1.8 Million in January 2023. Protocol and The Harris 2022 poll revealed that 37% adults believe the metaverse will be fun while 38% think it would make their lives better.
