COIN stock price rose Monday after Coinbase opened initial public offering access to eligible U.S. retail investors. Yahoo Finance showed shares at $206.63, up 6.37%, at 9:40 a.m. Eastern on Sept. 21. Coinbase launched the service with Oura’s offering, giving approved users access before public trading begins.
The product pushed Coinbase further into traditional securities distribution as crypto-linked equities also advanced. Bitcoin traded above $85,000 Monday, while Coinbase stock extended Friday’s sharp gain. That wider market move makes it difficult to isolate IPO access as the sole driver.
COIN Stock Price Rises More Than 6%
Yahoo Finance data showed that the COIN stock price opened at $205.50 after closing Friday at $194.25. The shares reached an intraday high of $208.33 during early trading. Monday’s move followed an 11.66% gain in the previous session.
Coinbase stock also benefited from stronger cryptocurrency prices across the session. Yahoo Finance reported Bitcoin above $85,000 as technology and crypto-linked shares advanced. The rebound added a broader market tailwind to the company-specific Coinbase news.

Morningstar analyst Michael Miller had raised Coinbase’s fair value estimate to $168 on Sept. 15. Miller cited higher cryptocurrency prices and stronger trading and custody revenue projections. However, Morningstar still viewed the COIN stock price as overvalued at the time.
Coinbase Adds IPO Access Through Its Brokerage Unit
Coinbase said eligible U.S. customers can now request IPO shares directly through its app. Customers first fund accounts before submitting a conditional offer once an expected price range becomes available.
The company said final allocations depend on underwriter supply and customer demand. Requests can receive full, partial, or no allocations. Users can edit or cancel offers while the order window remains open. This might have also helped gains in the COIN stock price today.
Coinbase Capital Markets provides the securities service through its registered broker-dealer structure. The unit aggregates customer orders and routes them through Apex Clearing Corporation. Coinbase (COIN) said Apex handles execution, clearing, and custody for securities bought through the program.
Coinbase Capital Markets acts only as an agent and does not underwrite the offerings. Eligible users also complete a standard FINRA questionnaire before participating.
Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records list Coinbase Capital Markets under CRD number 10722. Its customer relationship summary also lists Securities and Exchange Commission registration and FINRA membership. The filing identifies the broker-dealer as a Securities Investor Protection Corporation member.
Coinbase also introduced restrictions on rapid IPO selling. Customers selling allocated shares within 30 days may lose IPO access for 60 days. Repeated early sales may also reduce future allocation frequency or size.

Amid the surge in COIN stock price and the IPO access update, Coinbase said allocated shares become tradable through its platform once public-market trading starts.
Oura Filing Gives Coinbase Stock Investors First Test
Oura filed an amended registration statement with the US SEC on Sept. 21. The filing showed plans to offer 50 million common shares at $40 to $44 each. Oura applied to list on Nasdaq under the ticker OURA.
The company planned to sell 13.5 million shares itself. Existing shareholders planned to sell another 36.5 million shares. At the top of the proposed range, the base offering would total about $2.2 billion.
Oura’s filing also showed $1.21 billion in revenue for nine months through June 30. Gross profit reached $662.2 million during that period, while gross margin stood at 55%. Revenue increased 74% from the comparable 2025 period.
Hardware generated about 80% of revenue, while memberships generated the remaining 20%. The filing showed membership revenue increased 121% from the comparable period.
Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan, Allen & Company, and Jefferies appeared among the underwriters. The filing said the registration statement remained subject to completion before sales could begin.
COIN Stock Price Faces Oura Pricing as Next Catalyst
Coinbase said it plans to add more IPO opportunities as selling-group allocations become available. The company did not publish a fixed timetable for later offerings. That leaves Oura as the first live test of customer demand and allocation mechanics.
The COIN stock price will also remain exposed to cryptocurrency trading conditions. Morningstar said Coinbase’s results still correlate heavily with cryptocurrency prices despite broader product expansion. That link remained visible during Monday’s simultaneous gains across Bitcoin and crypto-related equities.
Oura’s final IPO pricing now represents the next verifiable milestone. Investors can then assess demand, Coinbase allocations, and Oura’s first Nasdaq trading session.
